HONG KONG Day 1

Woke up reeallllyyyy early on 12 sept at about 2.30am.
Prepare to head to airport, final check of luggage if there's anything we forget to bring, and off we go to the airport at about 4am!! It was drizzling that morning and no sight of cabs. We're all panicking and thinking whether we should walk out to the junction road where there's a higher chance of getting a cab. But well, 20 minutes later we hopped on to a cab! Reached the airport really early at about 4.45am (it only took us 20 minutes to reach airport from cck!! yay to no jam) so we just walked around, grab something to eat.

I swear all the buildings in Hong Kong are so tall it seems so unstable and shaky and scary to me.

Good weather that day :D

You see all the air-cons outside? SO SCARY RIGHT? Like they will drop anytime. I don't even dare to walk outside every time. There's always water dripping down!! So unhygienic.

For most places in Hong Kong, they always have what they called the Ground Floor when we first step in the place. It usually has nothing on that floor, and you will need to go up to really "enter" the building.

Reached our hotel and checked in. Place our luggage and straight away went out to explore!

Had our first meal nearby~

And the people there always give HALF the water only. I ALSO DON'T WHY DON'T ASK ME.

(Update: Anyway, there are friends who told me the cup of water they always give is for washing utensils, not for drinking. OMG WTF?!?!?! Nobody told us about what the water is used for and of course, common sense people will just drink it right. We have been drinking every water they gave us when we sat down.

But my friend told me, not to worry. She also drank it and nothing happened LOL. But seriously damn weird to provide a cup of water for people to wash their utensils. My friend said because the Hong Kong people don't trust them washing the utensils so they wash again one more time. So weird??!! They still so cute go and give a cup of water just for washing haha. If they knew their washing of cutlery are not up to standard, why not improve on it instead of providing a cup of water to every customer. Lol!!! Weird.)

The shop is famous for their roast goose!

And ALL the vegetables are this big. Hong Kong people sure have strong teeth. When my parents saw this plate of vegetables, they straight away request it to be cut it to smaller pieces for easy chewing. Every meal we order with veges, all came in this size.

My parents had a hard time chewing and there's one time they complained their mouth is tired from chewing LOL.

After the meal, dad wanted to visit the famous Huang Da Xian temple so we went to ask for directions to the MTR and took a train there. The MTR is about 10 mins walk from our hotel which was considered quite near and convenient!

Their "ez-link card". I LOVE THEIR MTR!
Firstly, their Octopus card. I love the idea that we can buy a temporary card to travel which we will pay $150HKD for it and $50HKD is the deposit while the rest of the money is for you to spend (take the trains/bus, buy stuffs using the card etc). Like us tourist, we will only use the card for a couple of days. So we can return the card after using and get back our deposit PLUS the remaining money inside! Means you lose nothing at all right? But if you were to return the card before 30 days, you will have to give a $9HKD (equivalent to $1.50SGD). Still, I think it's fair enough. Unlike Singapore's ez-link card where you can't get back the remaining money inside the card. Using this Octopus card would be better because it's cheaper compared to the one-way ticket.

Secondly, how fast their trains are.
YES MY FELLOW SINGAPOREANS, I KNOW HOW SUCKY OUR TRAIN SYSTEMS ARE IN SINGAPORE. Where you get frequent brakes here and there, train stalled in the middle for a few minutes, trains travelling very very very slowly. I can assure that all Singaporeans who took the Hong Kong MTR would love it. During the peak hours, their MTR will also come in 1-2 mins interval (super fast compared to Singapore's MRT) and throughout the whole 4 days I took the MTR, there's no breaking or jerking once and the train don't stop in the middle or nowhere. I absolutely LOVE it. Why can't Singapore learn from them???

Their maps are similar to Singapore's one so it's really easy to understand and travel.

Hehe love this shot of Dad and I :-)

Their seats are made of aluminium which is super cold when you sit down!!

And ponytail is still not enough to keep me cool I need to tie a bun!!!!

Next we went to Kowloon Bay. There's a few huge shopping malls around there and we just randomly walked around. One thing about Hong Kong shopping malls is that they DON'T provide seats. A huge shopping mall and I can't even find one at all!!!! It's ridiculous. Our legs are so tired we can't even find a place to sit. Super different from Singapore where every floors will definitely have seats for you sit down and rest! In the end we gave up and decided to grab some bite at KFC in order to sit down.

But it is a good decision!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us
Look at what the KFC in Hong Kong are serving!!!! So many varieties I've never eaten before ever in my life.
Wtf Singapore KFC wtf?!!?

And you know what...????

They even provide gloves for us to eat without dirtying our hands!!!! WHY SO GOOD!!!

Went back to hotel during their peak hour (around 7-8pm). They queued too while waiting for the trains but it was super fastttt compared to Singapore's mrt...

Busy bee (+ some F1 pics)

Hello!!

So many things happened the past few days/weeks. Kinda tiring.. But it's good because it means I'm doing something productive during my holidays and spending it wisely! :D Anyway I went to Hong Kong and came back since last week and 4 days of work for F1 had also passed.

Hong Kong is really awesome and I'm missing it sooo badly now. The freedom, food, shopping, and the companion (my family). It's really good to be in overseas because you get to explore places you've never been before and everything is so eye-opening to you! I had a lot a lot of fun experiencing the culture in Hong Kong with my family and I'd love to go back again. Well actually, I just don't wanna stay in Singapore during my holidays thats all. Any country will be great. I love exploring new places/ things!
(Sigh and I've no idea when will be the next time we will go overseas and enjoy ourselves together again...)

Working in F1 is sure tiring as hell. This year's workload is much more compared to last year where I work under Hilton in the paddock area. More staffs and less stress. BUT, even with the crazy workload, my working friends made the tough job so much better. :*)

All the lovely people I knew through F1. ♡

By looking at the picture you can know they are very bubbly and noisy and happy kinda people right! It's amazing how everybody with different personalities can click together so well and create memorable memories and moments together. You know sometimes when other suites (we work together in Standard Chartered Sky Suite) lack of manpower, one or two of us will be transferred to other suites and help up. Nobody wanted to be transfer over because we have already created a bond between each and every one of us and going to other suites means we have to be separated and not see each other for the rest of the day. It's really sad to see any of us being transferred over because then it will mean it's not the same anymore. :/

I'm thankful for each and every one of them for being so nice, helpful and friendly throughout these 4 days, and I can always rely on them whenever I need help. The teamwork and team spirit is definitely there, and that's what makes the day of separation so sad and teary. :'( I can really feel attached and bonded with everyone within just 4 days! It's amazing because I've never felt that with any of my working partners before. I'm super glad I've met every single one of them, and I thank fate + god for that. I will never forget all the 'gossiping sessions', 'scolding sessions', 'eating sneakily' and 'heck care moments' created with all of them.

Thank you YOU ALL. Love you all to bits!!! ♡♡♡

And some F1 pics:

Such a fun bunch of them :*)

Hehehe and beautiful fireworks to celebrate the end of F1!!!
