Wanlinxoxo: S.MILES Amazing Race

Took part in S.MILES Amazing Race the other day with Peggy. Junlin and Zhengxun (totally have no idea he was going to sign up at first until that actual day)! Because we received an email on our iChat and we will be facilitator! So we signed up for it together (which I blogged briefly about it here), mainly because 3 meals are provided and cca points!

Met up as early at 7.30am because the event started at 9am and it was our first time to the newly opened Gardens By The Bay so we might need time to find our way there too.

In case you're wondering how to go there by MRT from Cck:

1. Take red line to Jurong East.

2. Take green line towards Pasir Ris to Raffles Place.

3. Take red line to Marina Bay.

4. Take circle line to Bayfront.

5. Walk underpass (there will be signs and directions once you alight Bayfront) to Gardens By The Bay.

There are many alternatives (like you can take straight train from Cck to Marina Bay instead of transferring at Jurong East) but mine is the shortest from Cck. Go find out yourself if you want other alternatives!

If you walk the underpass from Bayfront, you find yourself in Bay South!

Lots of different gardens there. See the map if you're lost!

$5 if you want to walk on the bridge. I find it reasonable though!

Before the briefing started, we were asked if anyone of us want to be station master since they're shorthanded. So I volunteered! Well, it's such a scorching day so why not just stay under the shade instead of running around. PLUS, we have to pay the ezlink fare our own! They did gave us $5 for lunch and ezlink card. But..... yeah. It's only $5.

And luckily enough, our station is only located at Tiong Bahru. Trained there at 10.30am and had a hard time finding that stupid place. -___- We walked the opposite direction when we exited from the MRT! Before going there, we looked at the map and roughly know it is located near Block 123. We walked alllllll theeeee wayyyyy uppppp and finally saw Block 123!!! We chiong up and looked around but didn't found it. Then realised it was wrong after asking a few of the passerbys there. One kind passerby even searched at his iPad for us and the place we're going is on the other side. Wtf!! It means one small area have got TWO (2) Block 123. /___\ It's so stupid if people is finding by block wtf.

Please do something about it Tiong Bahru GRC lol.

And the same kind passerby who checked his iPad volunteered to drive us there since it is quite a distance away!! We declined but he insisted so why not LOL. But he was really kind and friendly, even chatted with us a little on our way there. Thank you!!! =DDD Singapore need more kind and friendly people like him! ^_^

So Desiree and I reached our station after 30 minutes of finding the place and it started drizzling then raining. Soon after that many groups came and completed their task!

Each station features a unique statue/history/etc and a task related to that. In our station, their task was suppose to be to count some kettles at the Passion Arts Feature @ Seng Poh Garden which is just opposite the featured statue, but the whole thing was demolished and the area there was EMPTY. O_O Desiree and I was like in shocked when we reached the place and saw nothing there wtf. So lousy one the management (very into POM)!!

So their task became to search for who built the statue. -___- So lame. Just one group member with smartphone can complete the task already. Boringggggggggg.

Went back around 4.30pm and collected our dinner! Joined Peggy and Zhengxun while Junlin went to MBS and find her friend. Chit-chatted and it started drizzling. -_-
